They received their massage education from Georgia Massage School, and also hold an MFA in Dance from Hollins University. He has danced with Columbia Classical Ballet, River North Dance Chicago, Armitage Gone! Dance, gloATL, and staibdance. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe and performed at iconic dance venues such as the Joyce Theater and Jacob's Pillow. Sean has been on faculty at The University of South Carolina, The Northwest Florida Ballet, Ballet Tennessee, The Lou Conte Dance Studio, River North Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, and Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education. After relocating to Atlanta from NYC in 2012, Sean danced with gloATL and was Principal of gloSCHOOLHOUSE (gloATLs educational platform), from 2013 to 2014. During the same year he was the Program Coordinator for ChopArt, an organization empowering homeless youth to practice self-expression through art. Sean was co-creator and facilitator for Dance Chance Atlanta, a once a month choreographic showcase at the Atlanta Ballet, as well as 2014-15 Hughley Fellow through the Atlanta organization WonderRoot. In 2014 Nguyen-Hilton co-founded Fly on a Wall, a platform for innovative performance, with colleagues Nathan Griswold and Nicole Johnson. Since its inception Fly on a Wall has received critical acclaim and is supported by the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs. Locally, Nguyen-Hilton’s work has been presented at the Human Rights Campaign Gala, Atlanta Ballet’s Wabi Sabi, Atlanta Ballet’s Fellowship Ensemble, Emory Dance Company, Museum of Contemporary Art GA, Kennesaw State University, The Windmill Arts Center, and The High Museum of Art. In 2016 ArtsATL said “Sean Hilton has emerged as one of the city's leading choreographers.” The same year, he was an Idea Capital Grant winner, and a Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences Distinguished Fellow, with Fly on a Wall. I engage movement and the physical nature of things. My process is fueled by textures and the amorphous nature of living, as well as the observation of non-human structures and how their architectures can inform deeper understanding of the body. I am fascinated in how the body can be an architectural interface that can anchor consciousness in the present moment. I desire to be immersed among public and performative interactions where physical language can be presented as a medium of unseen forces, giving people a new tool with which to decipher the present moment. Sean was a professional dancer for two decades, working in the concert dance field in Chicago, NYC, and Atlanta before becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. They received their massage education from Georgia Massage School, and also hold an MFA in Dance from Hollins University.
